Animation Sequence Project - Bookworm

The Animation Sequence Project is an unique co-creation project featuring the world's greatest animation artists.
Creative minds from all over the world are invited to create a short piece of animation. The only requirement for the content of animation is that it starts and ends with a 250 pixel square in the exact middle of the screen.
This is my entry for the Animation Sequence Project, wherein I explored the different worlds within a book of tales.

This is a short promo I animated for my college convocation, where we decided to make an artwork/animation a day to countdown to the date of convocation. This is a humourous take on one of my friends and animation colleague, Jasjyot.

Classroom Project - A father's promise

I finally have managed to complete my classroom project at NID after a long long wait. It wouldn't have been possible without the help of a lot of people - colleagues, faculty and family. Here are a few stills from the project, will put up the link for the film soon.

Synopsis : This is a story of the manifestation of a father-son relationship despite all odds.

Here are some snapshots from the film.

I have uploaded my film on vimeo, here is the link to it: https://vimeo.com/51776390

Abhibashi Magazine Cover

This was a cover that I drew for a bi-annual Bengali magazine "Abhibashi".

The theme for the magazine for this session is "Theater" and with Durga Puja just around the corner, they required me to incorporated some element of that as well into the drawing. I made two versions of it. This one is the final version, the one that I finally submitted to the editors with the proposed layout.

However, things didn't quite go as planned with the publishers due to some miscommunication and the final printed version looks like this.

In the previous version, I had tried to use the Tholpavakoothu shadow puppet art form and use that to show bring out the subject. However, I wasn't very happy with the result and decided to rework on it.

I made this one using acrylics and photo inks, and detailed the puppets with a ball pen. On a personal note, I must admit that the puppets which are actually used for the plays in Kerala, are much more detailed than what I could hope to portray in my version of them.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. Anil Awachat and renowned painter Murli Lahoti. Murli Lahoti's work can be seen at this website http://murlilahoti.com/

who dropped in for the exhibition today.
The Exhibition was organised by my diploma project Sponsorers Mr. Rothindra Nath Chowdhry and Ms. Dickiy Chowdhry.
